ABOUT HOSANNA
MISSION
Hosanna Christian School exists to partner with
Christian parents, students, and/or local churches to educate the whole student
(spirit, mind and body) integrating Christ as first in all things.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Bible is the complete and final revelation
of God concerning all matters. Jesus is the center of authority in all that is
believed, said or done.
-
We believe the Bible is the only inspired Word
of God, completely true, and useful for teaching, reprimanding, correcting and
training in righteousness. (II Timothy 3:16 & 17)
-
We believe in the Trinity: God the Father,
God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe that Jesus (God the Son) was born
of a virgin, lived a perfect life, shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins
by His death on the cross, was raised from the dead, went up to the right hand
of God (God the Father) and will return.
-
We believe that man needs a spiritual rebirth
and must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. “For it is with your heart
that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess
and are saved.” (Romans 10:10)
GOAL OF EDUCATION
The goal of education at
Hosanna is to teach students that which is necessary for them to be productive
and responsible citizens in our world and God’s kingdom. To accomplish that
goal the school will seek to do the following:
-
First, help students to acquire knowledge.
The acquisition of content and skills as educational objectives is vital, but
must be combined with an appreciation of who each student is and what he/she
is intended to become in the plan of God. (Eph. 4:11-13)
-
Second, help students learn to think. This
means that we will endeavor to teach a student how to think critically so that
they will be able to discern for themselves that which is true.
-
Third, help students apply what they learn.
We will make every effort to help and encourage students to understand how
truths discovered are applicable in their individual lives. (James 1:22)
NORTHWEST ACCREDITATION OF SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
Hosanna Christian School (Pre K-12th grade)
offers quality education and excellent programs. Hosanna Christian School (7th
- 12th grades) is fully accredited with the Northwest Accreditation of Schools
and Colleges. Accreditation allows students to apply for numerous scholarships
and be accepted into colleges and universities without prior testing. Hosanna
is registered with the State of Oregon’s Education Department. Registration
allows students to transfer from private to public schools without the loss of
credits.
ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL
Hosanna Christian School is registered with
A.C.S.I. The 7th – 12th grade is in candidate status for accreditation with the
organization.
NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY
It is our policy to practice equal opportunity
without regard to an individual’s race, color, national origin, marital status,
sex or age in application of any policy, practice, rule or regulation. Any form
of harassment, including sexual harassment, is absolutely prohibited.
