What’s Happening in Third Grade?
I can’t believe we are so far into the month of
January! Your children returned to
school refreshed and ready to learn.
Hopefully they have told you about our ZOOLAND interact. Thanks to
Third grade students are
currently reading their first chapter book of the year. We will be reading a chapter a day in
class. Understanding and remembering
what a child reads is a big focus of third grade reading; therefore it is best
if they are asked questions right after reading. Many of the children are growing well in this
skill. Also, in regard to reading, we
did not have many students complete their Book-It reading for December even
though I had moved the due date to January 3.
Please be sure to have your child read daily and strive for completing
at least 200 pages for the month.
With this letter, students will be given
information concerning a Paper Bag Book Report. The reports are a lot of fun, and last
year’s students asked to do them several times. Please discuss the book your child is
reporting on and help oversee that what is put in the bag represents the
contents of the book.
A special thanks to
Thank you for all the ways you bless our class and
me. We need more toilet wipes and
waterless hand cleaner. We use the hand
cleaner before we eat our snack each day.
Thanks for your help!
Please
come to me with any concerns you may have.
